Personal Statement / Motivation

When everything is fast-paced, superficial and fleeting, I want to offer my patients* the opportunity to build a personal relationship with me and feel like they are my only patient*.

Our cases are discussed in plenary with internationally renowned colleagues* to find the best possible treatment for our patients*. Furthermore, our anonymized data and quality parameters are analyzed annually with the Health Department of the Canton of Zurich within the framework of the cantonal quality circles and in QUIP (Quality Program of the European Association for Cardiac Surgery - EACTS). We place particular emphasis on the consistently meager complication rates, the short length of stay in the hospital, the high proportion of arterial bypasses and the highest number of minimally invasive operations to preserve valves.

To reduce the invasiveness of interventions, we are pioneers in developing breakthrough techniques so that we can avoid surgery whenever possible Remains in the foreground: Avoid prostheses and preserve your own heart valves (see video Chordart - Coremedic).

* For better readability, the generic masculine is used. Female and other gender identities are explicitly included.
